Our Retirement and Financial Planning Program is designed to help you be fiscally fit. Human Resources offers free sessions on topics ranging from basic budgeting to planning for retirement. This spring's fair is on Tuesday, April 24, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Newcomb Hall.
April 24th's fair features presentations on Medicare, Social Security, and preparing for retirement, as well as time to visit with retirement and other benefit vendors in the South Meeting Room. History
April 2011's Retirement and Financial Planning Fair focused on "Preparing for Retirement: Personal and Financial Planning, " featuring a special presentation by VRS Director Bob Schultze. You can view his presentation on the University's YouTube channel.
Fall 2010 also featured retirement preparedness, while summer 2010 sessions focused on financial literacy, with sessions on Budgeting Basics, Money Matters, Managing Your Credit, and To Your Credit, all co-sponsored by the UVa Credit Union.
In May UHR offered sessions featuring Genworth, the Commonwealth's new Long Term Care Vendor. You can read more detailed information on eligibility for this program, including a personalized premium quote, at http://genworth.com/cov.
The series kicked off March 31, 2010, with a Financial Planning Fair, held in Newcomb Hall’s South Meeting Room from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with representatives from VRS, TIAA-CREF, Fidelity, Vanguard, the Social Security Administration, Genworth, our own FEAP, and the U.Va. Credit Union.
