We've Moved!

UVA Human Resources has moved to 2420 Old Ivy Road, effective November 11, 2019. The move included all HR staff except HR Business Partners and Employee Relations Consultants who support the Medical Center. They will continue to be located in or near those departments.

We look forward to assisting you in our new location!

HR has joined University Communications, Safety and Security, and Advancement at 2420 Old Ivy.

Why?

The move allows UVA HR members to work in one location to better collaborate and be more efficient, enabling HR to better serve you.

What Has Changed

HR in-person appointments take place at our new location of 2420 Old Ivy Road. Please schedule your appointment by emailing AskHR@virginia.edu.

HR Recruiters are available to come to departments. Hiring officials should arrange this with their HR Business Partners and their Recruiters.

Paper paychecks may be picked up at Carruthers Hall, 1001 N. Emmet Street instead of the West Complex.  Please use the main entrance facing Barracks Road Shopping Center (not the Student Financial Services Entrance). A payroll staff member will be available to distribute paper checks in the main lobby of Carruthers each Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.  

Please take a moment to set up your direct deposit payment election in Workday.  If you are a new hire, note that some incomplete tasks in Workday (i.e., Form I-9, benefit elections, etc.) may prevent your direct deposit election from taking effect until those steps are resolved.

What Has Stayed the Same

All HR Business Partner(s), and Employee Relations Consultants who support the Medical Center, will remain in or near the departments they serve and are available to personally assist you with your HR needs.

How to See Us

Our new location is conveniently located close to Route 250 and Route 29. Guest parking is located next to the front entrance on the upper level of the parking lot. Walk-ins are welcome, though we encourage appointments.  

While University Transit Service (UTS) buses cannot access the location due to a low bridge crossing at Old Ivy Road, HR and UTS are in discussions about transportation options. We'll keep you updated!

UVA HR staff will work with you using Zoom, Skype, and conference calls, and by scheduling  face-to-face meetings in your departments.

  • How should people send documentation and forms that includes sensitive information?

    The process for sending documentation and forms that includes sensitive information like social security numbers and other personally identifying information should be the same as it is today. When sensitive information is sent to HR, we recommend that it is sent via fax or mail.

    Yes, move information will be posted in Workday, and refer to this page, which will be continually updated with new information.

  • How do I access HR without personal transportation?

    While University Transit Service (UTS) cannot currently access the location due to a low bridge crossing Old Ivy Road. HR and UTS are in discussions about transportation options. We'll keep you updated!

    In the meantime, your HR Business Partner resides in or near your building and is always available to personally assist you with your HR needs. In addition, your Employee Relations Consultants will conduct Zoom or Skype interviews as needed, conduct conference calls, and schedule face-to-face meetings in your departments during prescheduled onsite office hours. Pre-determination and investigation meetings will continue to be held in your department by Employee Relations.
