Spring 2024 PTO Cash-Out is Here for University Medical Center and UPG Team Members
Spring 2024 PTO Cash-Out is here. PTO Cash-Out allows team members to exchange unused PTO hours for monetary compensation. The June 14 paycheck will include the cash-out payments.
- You may request PTO Cash-Out May 30-June 9, 2024. Cash-out process instructions are below.
- Review your total PTO balance for the cash-out period by clicking on Absence Balance in Workday and selecting May 25 in the “As Of” field. The amount in the "Balance As of Date" field is your total PTO at the time of cash-out.
- Your cash-out request cannot exceed the allowed maximum hours as defined in Paid Time Off.

- Leave of Absence v.5 provides additional information on PTO Cash-Out for UPG team members.
Important information
- You must be logged into your HSVPN (High Security VPN).
- Log into Workday any time between May 30 and June 9 (you can access Workday online anywhere with an internet connection).
- You must have a minimum remaining balance of 40 hours.
- You cannot enter more than one cash-out request.
- All dates must be entered according to the instructions below.

Step-by-Step instructions for Requesting Cash-Out
The process below in Workday is only for requesting PTO Cash-Out. All other PTO requests should be made in Kronos, as usual. Cash-out requests entered in Workday use the Manage Absence report and follow these steps:
- Check your PTO cash-out allowance by entering June 8 in the Select As Of Date field to the right of the calendar. You may request up to the amount of hours shown under Cash Out Max Allowed.
- Choose the Absence Type: MC Cash Out.
- If you need to change the number of hours you submitted, you can edit your absence through the report, up until the June 9 deadline.
- From the Manage Absence calendar, select June 8.
