About Your Presenter
Dr. Heather Ferris, MD, PhD is an Associate Professor in the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism at UVA. She founded the Geriatric Diabetes Clinic where she cares for adults over the age of 65 with diabetes. In addition, she works with people with early stages of dementia to use lifestyle and medical interventions to slow cognitive decline. She also runs a basic science laboratory that studies how obesity and diabetes contribute to dementia.
