Grounds For Success: Academic Employee Orientation

Grounds for Success Orientation is offered every other Monday, except on holidays, when it is held on Tuesday of the same week:  2024 Grounds for Success Dates.

New hires will receive an email with information and instructions for Grounds for Success Orientation nearest to their start date. 

"Grounds for Success" Zoom session:

If a new hire is unable to attend the live GFS Zoom session, the Grounds for Success Online module in Workday can be completed as an alternative.

Zoom provides a closed captioning feature for participants who would be interested in that option.

The program follows the UVA operating schedule. If non-designated employees are asked not to report to work, the live Zoom Grounds for Success is canceled.

If a new hire is unable to attend the live GFS Zoom session, the Grounds for Success Online module in Workday can be completed as an alternative.

Complete the mandatory digital courses assigned to you in Workday. These courses are found under the Learning application in the section titled My Learning. The Required for You modules are clearly marked with the applicable due date.

Optional, but recommended, courses will be delivered to you via the Learning application of Workday.
While these courses are not mandatory, you will find them very helpful as a new employee.
