    Early Career Professionals @UVA is designed to empower staff and early-career professionals with essential life and workplace skills. Over six months, you'll blend personal development, professional readiness, and practical knowledge of UVA-specific benefits – so you can thrive at work and in Charlottesville.

    Program Details

    Meet Your Health and Wellness Coach: Beth Frackleton, RN, BSN, M.Ed., NBC-HWC

    In addition to holding a BSN (from UVA!), Beth Frackleton also has a M.Ed in Counseling and was among the first in the country to become a National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC).  Beth is also certified as a personal trainer by the American College of Sports Medicine and is a Certified Medical Yoga instructor.

    Beth triages all potential clients, provides health and wellness coaching and facilitates referrals to other resources including, but not limited to, Hoos Well, UVA Recreation, Nutrition Services, and FEAP, as well as the full spectrum of Health System resources.

Chronic Care Coaching

The ultimate goal of the Chronic Care Coaching service is to help improve the health and wellness of our University community by assisting employees and team members and their family* to be as healthy as they can be. Chronic Care Coaching assists you with managing chronic health conditions such as hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, morbid obesity, and stress management, with the goal of improving your health and well-being. This service is a UVA Health-sponsored benefit for UVA team members (UVA HS, Academic, Foundation, UPG, etc.). There are no associated costs.

*UVA team members and their family do not have to be enrolled in the Aetna insurance plan. Please call to see if you are eligible for this program.

 

WorkMed

UVA-WorkMed is a comprehensive occupational health and team member wellness clinic within the University Medical Center. We partner with corporations, businesses, governmental agencies, and nonprofit entities to provide occupational health and wellness services that are tailored to the needs of the employer. UVA-WorkMed team members include nurses and physicians. 

Services include:

  • Animal Research Medical Evaluations
  • Annual and new employee physicals
  • Fitness for duty evaluations
  • Substance screenings

Occupational Health

  • Blood and body fluid and environmental exposure management
  • Clinical laboratory tests
  • Immunizations
  • Respiratory fit testing
  • 24-hour substance testing (for-cause and post-accident)

Employee Primary Care

UVA Health Employee Primary Care is a new clinic that offers primary care services, including same-day appointments, for adult employees of the UVA Health University Medical Center and Academic division on the UVA Health Plan (all tiers).

An existing relationship with a UVA primary care provider is not required to be seen at this clinic. Please note: Children and spouses on the UVA Health plan are not eligible to use the clinic at this time.

Conveniently located on grounds, the clinic is an exclusive benefit for employees of any option of the UVA Health Plan. 

Services include:

  • Preventative care and wellness visits (100% covered by UVA Health plan)
  • Treatment of illnesses and mild injuries - same-day visits available
  • Immunizations
  • Medication management
  • Chronic disease management (diabetes, heart disease, etc.)
  • Pregnancy testing and counseling
  • Labs and point-of-care testing (strep, flu, Covid, etc.)
