In alignment with UVA's 2030 Plan to recruit excellent and diverse faculty, the UVA Provost’s office partnered with HR to provide better faculty search and recruitment functionality using an online platform called Interfolio, which launched on July 17, 2023. Interfolio is a leading academic faculty management software and higher education technology firm. 

Interfolio Faculty Search

The Interfolio Faculty Search module is one module of Interfolio's Faculty Information System. This cutting-edge technology streamlines the academic recruitment and hiring process and helps faculty members save time and effort by automating many of the time-consuming tasks associated with traditional search and hiring methods. This includes how postings are generated, how applicants access postings, how search committees access and review applicants, how external letters are sought, and how finalist approval processes are handled. With this platform, faculty search committees can review candidates' applications, share reviews with committee members and department chairs, track progress in real time, communicate securely with candidates, report diversity data, and more.

Workday will continue to house some management tasks related to hiring and onboarding candidates. These include job requisitions, job postings, submission and receipt of final offer letters, background checks, orientation and required training courses, and other onboarding materials.
