Interfolio Faculty Search Launches July 17

Dear Colleagues, 

The detailed work of setting up Interfolio Faculty Search for UVA is underway, and the platform is expected to launch on July 17, 2023. Faculty searches that begin on or after July 17 will use Interfolio Faculty Search. Interfolio's Faculty Search Module offers us many improvements to our current process that include saving faculty time with one system of record, automated file management, transparency, equitable practices, greater candidate satisfaction, and many customizable options for schools and departments.

In addition to process meeting and workshops currently underway to customize Interfolio Faculty Search platform for every UVA school, unit, or department, the Interfolio implementation team will offer role-specific training (see below). Prior to schools beginning searches in Interfolio, they will need to complete their process meeting, workshop, and Unit Administrator training. Committee Manager and Committee Member training will also be available.  

To allow the Interfolio team to spend the necessary focused time with each school and to provide training “just in time” as the tool will be used, the following phased schedule will apply:

Interfolio faculty searches can begin July 17 for: College & Graduate School of Arts & Sciences, Darden School of Business, McIntire School of Commerce, School of Education and Human Development, School of Engineering and Applied Science, School of Law, and School of Medicine.

  • Upcoming training dates for the above schools:
    • Unit Administrators: Wed. July 12, 10-11 am (1 hr.)
    • Search Committee Chairs: Thurs. July 13, 2:30-3:30 pm (1 hr.)
    • Search Committee Members: Tues., July 18, 2:00-2:45 pm (45 min.)

Interfolio faculty searches can begin August 11 for: Biocomplexity Institute, College at Wise, Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy, School of Architecture, School of Continuing & Professional Studies, School of Data Science, and School of Nursing.

  • For those in the August 11 group, if you anticipate starting a faculty search between July 17 and August 11, let us know and we’ll move you to the earlier group.
  • Training dates to be confirmed soon.

Implementation details and updates continue to be available on the UVA HR Interfolio Faculty Search webpage. A new dedicated website for Faculty Search will be launching soon through the Office of the Provost.
