UVA Employees Support a Healthy, Active Workplace

UVA Employees Show Support for a Healthy, Active Workplace

On Saturday, May 4, Hoos Well partnered with IM-REC and Aetna to offer all UVA employees and their families a fun-filled day in Scott Stadium as a kick-off for "Exercise is Medicine @Work," promoting healthy and active lifestyles at work.

During the event, participants were able to sample free classes offered weekly through IM-REC, such as Zumba, Yoga, Caliente, and Boot Camp. Whether you were able to try out one of these classes during the Field of Play event or not, you can see the full schedule of Summer Hoos Well classes with IM-REC that begin in the month of May. All of these classes are free for employees and their spouses on the UVA Health Plan.

The winner of the Field Goal Kick Challenge, Luke Siebert, definitely won big, taking home four football tickets to the season opener.

And, thanks to two generous donations by Cavalier Computers, Nicole Mohiuddin won the raffle for the Fitbit Charge 3 and Anthony Ayala won a gift card to the UVA Bookstore/Cavalier Computers. If you haven't seen the Hoos Well section for wearable devices on the Cavalier Computers website, there are some good deals for employees interested in monitoring their health and fitness levels.

We hope you were able to join Hoos Well in Scott Stadium for Field of Play. Remember to keep an eye on the Hoos Well website to learn about the many physical, emotional, and financial offerings for UVA employees.
