Welcome to Occupational Health and Wellness! We're here to support you with a range of services designed to keep you healthy and thriving. Whether you need employment services like physicals, occupational health services such as immunizations and lab tests, or personalized coaching for health and wellness, we've got you covered.

Our offerings include:

  • Health and Wellness Coaching: Dive deep into specific topics with our group and individual coaching sessions. Learn, grow, and evolve with us!
  • Chronic Care Coaching: Get the support you need to manage chronic health conditions effectively.
  • Employment Services (WorkMed): Get fitness for duty evaluations, immunizations, and drug screenings as needed.
  • Work Injury Management: Receive expert care and guidance on work-related injuries to recover and get back to work safely.
  • Employee Primary Care: Receive primary care services, including same-day appointments, for adult employees of the UVA Health University Medical Center and Academic division on the UVA Health Plan (all tiers). An existing relationship with a UVA primary care provider is not required to be seen at this clinic.

  • Divorce Wellness Group: July 16 - August 20

    Join Our Divorce Wellness Group: A 5-Week Virtual Journey to Healing

    Are you navigating the challenges of divorce or seeking to heal from its impact? Our Divorce Wellness Group offers a supportive and transformative 5-week virtual course designed just for you.

    Course Highlights

    • Self-Care: Learn essential practices to nurture your well-being.
    • Confidence: Build and boost your self-esteem.
    • Social Connections: Foster meaningful relationships and support networks.

    • When: Weekly on Wednesdays, 12 noon to 1 p.m., from July 16 to August 20.
    • How to Register: Contact Beth Frackleton to sign up or for more information. She will then schedule an orientation session to offer information about the class and prepare you for the journey ahead. In addition, you will have the opportunity for two or more individual coaching sessions, which will be scheduled throughout the 5 weeks at your convenience.

    Meet Your Health and Wellness Coach: Beth Frackleton, RN, BSN, M.Ed., NBC-HWC

    In addition to holding a BSN (from UVA!), Beth Frackleton also has a M.Ed in Counseling and was among the first in the country to become a National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC).  Beth is also certified as a personal trainer by the American College of Sports Medicine and is a Certified Medical Yoga instructor.

    Beth triages all potential clients, provides health and wellness coaching and facilitates referrals to other resources including, but not limited to, Hoos Well, UVA Recreation, Nutrition Services, and FEAP, as well as the full spectrum of Health System resources.

Chronic Care Coaching

The ultimate goal of the Chronic Care Coaching service is to help improve the health and wellness of our University community by assisting employees and team members and their family* to be as healthy as they can be. Chronic Care Coaching assists you with managing chronic health conditions such as hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, morbid obesity, and stress management, with the goal of improving your health and well-being. This service is a UVA Health-sponsored benefit for UVA team members (UVA HS, Academic, Foundation, UPG, etc.). There are no associated costs.

*UVA team members and their family do not have to be enrolled in the Aetna insurance plan. Please call to see if you are eligible for this program.

 

WorkMed

UVA-WorkMed is a comprehensive occupational health and team member wellness clinic within the University Medical Center. We partner with corporations, businesses, governmental agencies, and nonprofit entities to provide occupational health and wellness services that are tailored to the needs of the employer. UVA-WorkMed team members include nurses and physicians.
