Aiming to empower our community with innovative tools to meet the needs of our organization, Workday Digital Assist (WDA) is now available broadly throughout UVA.

WDA acts as a layer on top of Workday, offering:

on-screen process guidance
step-by-step assistance in real time
increased effectiveness and efficiency
no need for instructions from external job aids

You’ll find that conducting many routine and non-routine business processes are now simpler, more intuitive, and faster. Furthermore, WDA reduces your need for outside training tools.

How can I tell if I have WDA on my computer?

When you log into Workday, look for a blue "need help" button with a cloud on it at the top of your screen. If you see this button, WDA is working. If you do not see the blue button, please contact AskHR.
If I do not have WDA, how can I get it?

WDA is powered by the WalkMe extension, which you can download and install for yourself.
What Processes in Workday can WDA help with?

WDA provides just-in-time guidance for a variety of Manager and Employee operations in Workday. To view all available guidance, download WDA, then click on the "Need Help" button in Workday to browse all categories available to you.
Who can help me with installing WDA?

I'm having trouble with WDA, who should I contact?

If you are having trouble with Digital Assist or Workday, reach out to AskHR@virginia.edu with details about the problem you’re experiencing.
Can I turn off WDA?

You cannot turn off WDA, but you can choose to not engage with SmartWalkThrus and you can choose to ignore the SmartTips that appear.
Is WDA available on other sites or areas outside of Workday?

No, WDA is only available in Workday.
Why do I not see the same amount of content in my Help Menu as my colleague?

Digital Assist is catered to the user based on role in Workday (manager, delegate, acting security role). If there are tasks that you complete in Workday that you do not see in the Menu, contact the Digital Assist team by emailing AskHR@virginia.edu.
I’m a delegate, and I’m not seeing the tasks I’m delegated in the Help Menu?

You must switch to your delegate account by clicking on “switch account” in the profile dropdown menu to view the delegate associated task. Remember, your manager must also have delegated you the responsibility to complete that task.
