Aiming to empower our community with innovative tools to meet the needs of our organization, Workday Digital Assist (WDA) is now available broadly throughout UVA.

WDA acts as a layer on top of Workday, offering:

  • on-screen process guidance 
  • step-by-step assistance in real time 
  • increased effectiveness and efficiency 
  • no need for instructions from external job aids

You’ll find that conducting many routine and non-routine business processes are now simpler, more intuitive, and faster. Furthermore, WDA reduces your need for outside training tools.

Workday enables you to complete many complex Workday business processes, minimizing confusion and errors  by providing user-based help, guidance, tips, and training based on your Workday security role .

WDA Features:

  • Launchers (your quick connection to relevant resources)
  • Resources (connection to material you need based on your actions)

Job Aid Integration

The power of WDA lies in its ability to provide point-of-need, in-platform assistance and to connect end users with information developed by HR functional experts. In doing so, WDA reduces reliance on job aids and calls to the HR Solution Center and HR Business Partners for help.

By offering walk-through assistance on demand while an individual is conducting many business processes in Workday, WDA has replaced the need for paper “job aids.” Beginning March 2022, HR will no longer be maintaining many job aids, with a few exceptions noted below.

  • During the transition, the Workday Training webpage will continue to offer manager, employee, and security role job aid content in the form of step and sequence instructions and limited visuals.
  • Security Role Job Aids e.g., Period Activity Pay Coordinator, Student Hiring Support, and Learning roles, will continue to be updated and posted by the LD & T team on the Workday Security Role Training Website.
  • Workday HR Annual projects e.g., Cash Out, Merit, and Open Enrollment documentation, will continue to be updated and available on the HR website.
