Flexible Spending Account Grace Period Extension

The grace period and claims filing deadlines for those enrolled in 2019 Dependent Daycare Accounts and Limited Healthcare Flexible Spending Accounts have been extended from March 15, 2020 and April 30, 2020 respectively to December 31, 2020. This deadline extension does not apply to those enrolled in a 2019 Full Healthcare Flexible Spending Account. 

The IRS is allowing this flexibility for grace periods ending in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Claims with dates of service through 12/31/20 can be submitted to Chard by 12/31/20 for reimbursement if you have unused money in your 2019 limited or dependent daycare FSA account from contributions made through payroll deductions in 2019.

Simply submit claims to Chard Snyder via email, fax, or US Mail for processing and reimbursement. These claims should not be submitted online or through Chard's mobile app.
