IMPORTANT NOTICE from the UVA Health Plan about your Prescription Drug Coverage and Medicare

This notice is for all employees who are:

• Enrolled in a UVA Health Plan and who are eligible for or entitled to Medicare
• Enrolled in a UVA Health Plan and are covering a family member who is eligible for or entitled to Medicare

The notice verifies that the UVA Health Plan Prescription Drug benefits are considered Creditable Coverage. Because the UVA Health Plan provides creditable coverage, Medicare-eligible employees can keep their UVA coverage and not pay a higher premium (penalty) when enrolling in Medicare drug coverage later. All impacted plan participants are responsible for providing a copy of this disclosure to their Medicare eligible dependents covered under the UVA group health plan.

Please keep the linked notice as you may be required to produce it when and if you decide to enroll in a Medicare drug program in the future.
