Managers: Weekly Prevalence Testing of Unvaccinated Team Members Suspended
As reported in the UVA Health Update, effective immediately, team members who are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or who have approved medical or religious exemptions will no longer be required to complete weekly prevalence testing at this time. There is a possibility that prevalence testing will be reinstated in the future if warranted by changes in COVID-19 case numbers and other factors. You will therefore no longer receive emails regarding non-compliant team members under your supervision. At this time, we will not suspend non-compliant team members.
New team members are still required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have a medical or religious exemption, and you are responsible for keeping track of your team members’ vaccination status. For Tier 1 team members, ‘fully vaccinated’ is defined as having completed a 2-dose mRNA series, a 1-dose J&J vaccine, or an approved course of a WHO-recognized COVID vaccine.
Below are resources for getting the COVID vaccine:
- Book appointments for vaccines at a UVA Health vaccination site through VaxTrax.
- Visit the Vaccines.gov website for vaccine locations.
- Information specific to the Charlottesville-Albemarle region is available on the Blue Ridge Health District’s website.
