University Medical Center: Orientation October 14
University Medical Center: Orientation Updates
Effective October 14, 2024
Update as of September 3rd for clinical nursing new hires:
UVA Health schedules Mandatory Central Clinical Orientation on the first day of employment for RNs, LPNs, PCTs, CNAs, Earn While You Learn MAs and CNAs, Medical Assistants, Passport USA International Nurses, Traveling Nurses and Nurse Match Nurses.
Central Clinical Orientation is scheduled on a biweekly basis on Mondays; however, if an orientation Monday coincides with a holiday, then the orientation date will be moved to the following day (i.e., Tuesday). Please refer to communications from Nursing Professional Development Services (NPDServices@uvahealth.org) and unit leadership for location, arrival time, and other helpful information.
On May 13, 2024, UVA HR launched a pilot HR orientation model for University Medical Center new hires. We thank everyone for their feedback and positive contributions and are pleased to introduce additional steps to further improve the new hire experience.
Starting October 14, 2024, UVA HR will be providing online I-9 document viewing sessions for new hires, both prior to and during the week of Day One. This eliminates the need for new hires to attend in-person Onboarding Office Hours in the West Complex on Day One. Please see the chart below for Day One University Medical Center HR Orientation.
