UVA Health Orientation: 2023 Update

Human Resources will continue to offer UVA Health Orientation in-person in 2023. However, due to space constraints, these sessions will continue to be for  Medical Center new hires and International Nurse new hires only.

New Hires of the UVA Physicians Group (UPG), School of Medicine (SOM), UVA Health transfers, University Medical Center temps, and UVA Travelers should not attend the HR in-person Orientation session. Instead, they should report to their manager in-person on their first day and complete the Workday learning module, detailed below.

All UVA Health new hires will receive a Workday learning module: UVA Health Orientation Online. This module is a recording of the HR - UVA Health orientation in-person presentation. There will be an attestation in the beginning of the module in which new hires will indicate if they have taken the in-person training or not. If not, they will be prompted to complete the module. 

Based on their role, new hires may also be assigned other in-person training, not associated with the HR – UVA Health Orientation. This includes trainings assigned by NPDS, Epic, and Revenue Cycle. Instructions for these trainings will come directly from these departments.
