Please Note: Employees who fail to present required documents at I-9 session or by the third day after official start date will lead to termination of employment until acceptable documentation is presented.
UVA Human Resources has returned to a mandatory I-9 in-person documentation per Federal law.You will be contacted directly by HR with instructions for in-person sessions in mid-September, 2022.
New employees must:
- Complete section I of the Form I-9 by the end of the first day of work. If the employee is a foreign national who does not have a social security number, please ask them to contact the HR Solution Center at 434.243.3344 or email@example.com.
- Locate and schedule an I-9 session for your student employee to attend before or on their first day. Ensure they gather and bring "acceptable documents" to complete part II of the I-9 at their session. No copies, faxes, or electronic versions will be accepted. This is a legal requirement.
