All new team members are required to complete the onboarding process specific to their roles. This UVA Health New Hire Portal details next steps to help you complete these requirements. Be sure to review the sections below – Before You Arrive, Your Orientation Day, More Training, and Benefits & Retirement Elections – to complete action items and to become familiar with all that we offer in training, benefits, perks, and rewards.

  • Before You Arrive

    Before starting work at UVA Health, you need to understand specific information and complete important action items. This webpage provides these instructions.

  • UVA Health Orientation

    The following team members attend UVA Health Orientation in person: UVA University Medical Center staff. All UVA Health new hires will receive a Workday learning module that is a recording of the UVA Health Orientation presentation. UVA University Medical Center travelers, UVA University Medical Center transfers, School of Medicine (SOM) research faculty and staff, UVA Physicians Group (UPG) providers and staff, Advanced Practice Providers, and Talent Flex (temporary) team members will complete this module in lieu of attending in-person Orientation. NOTE: School of Medicine clinical faculty attend orientation provided by the Clinical Staffing Office.

  • Additional Orientation and Training

    Not everyone attends Orientation to Patient Care (OPC), Epic Clinical Training, or Epic Revenue Cycle Training. Each component is created for special work groups. Attendance and participation in the components will depend on your new role. If you are required to attend additional training of any kind, you will receive email notification on next steps.
