How Are You Really Doing?: Tools for Mental Health Awareness Month

Many times, people ask how you are. Social curtesy? Yes. Kindness? Yes. And most of the time answering with a simple reply is fine. But what about those times when worry and anxiety take over and you truthfully aren’t ok? When this happens, mindfulness can help.

Mindfulness is about being attentive and open to what’s happening right now without judging it as good or bad, right or wrong, pleasant or unpleasant. With mindfulness, we can learn how to manage difficult emotions by changing the way we relate to discomfort and unease.
