2025 R1 Workday Learning Core Announcement
Welcome to the Workday Learning Core 2025 R1 update. Here are four new features that Learning Admins should know about.
Hide Inactive Learning Content from Global Search
Workday now enhances search efficiency by excluding inactive learning content from Workday's Global Search results for users with Learning administrator access. This means only active content will display when using Global Search, helping you find what you need faster and reducing clutter from outdated items.
To find inactive learning content, use the Manage Learning Content report. This allows you to view, filter, and manage active and inactive learning content.
Menu Categories – Learning Management
Next, let’s explore improvements to Workday’s Global Navigation Menu that simplify how you access your learning tools.
Workday introduces predefined categories to organize your apps, making navigation smoother and more intuitive.
For Workday Learning partners, your apps will now appear under the new Learning Management category, which includes:
- Learning Admin – Your central hub for accessing all learning-related tasks and reports based on your security role.
- Learning Trainer – Designed for Instructors and Assessors to view upcoming offerings and access relevant reports and tasks.
In addition, Workday is removing the 20-worklet limit, allowing you to add as many apps as needed. Workday automatically sorts them into the appropriate categories, giving you easier access without worrying about limits.
Terminated Workers and Learning Assignments
Managers will no longer see Terminated or Contract Ended workers on their My Team’s Learning Assignments report.
This update ensures that managers are viewing only current team members, helping them focus on active assignments and maintain accurate oversight of their team’s learning progress.
Campaigns Transitioning to Engagement Builder
Workday is introducing Engagement Builder, a redesigned version of Campaigns that offers enhanced control and visibility into audience engagement.
Over the next year, we’ll work together to transition your existing campaigns to the new Engagement Builder experience. If you’re a current campaign owner, stay tuned—we’ll reach out with support and guidance during this transition.
If you’d like to join us for our Workday Learning Partners meetings with Learning Administrators, Local Administrators, and Learning Program Managers, please email LMS@virginia.edu. We’ll discuss these features in more detail at our next meeting.
