2024 R2 Workday Learning Core Announcement
Welcome to the Workday Learning Core 2024 R2 update. Here are five new features that Learning Admins should know about.
My Team's Learning Assignments Report
First, let's explore the new My Team's Learning Assignments report. This tool helps managers track their team's learning assignments. As a Learning Admin, you might receive questions from managers about monitoring their team's progress. This report provides them with the necessary oversight.
- On the Workday homepage, managers can navigate to the My Team's Learning Assignments report under their Team Highlights.
- Here, they can view all assigned learning content, including the status of each assignment. Managers can filter and sort the data using the column headers or export the report to Excel for deeper analysis.
- This report helps managers stay proactive, ensuring due dates are met and team members remain compliant with their learning requirements.
Assignments Tab on Admin View
Next, Workday has enhanced the visibility of assignments by adding an Assignments tab in the Administrator view of Learning Content.
- On the Learning Content homepage in the Administrator View, select the Assignments tab.
- This tab displays all related assignments, sorted by assigned date, with open assignments shown first.
- You can also generate a Find Learning Assignments report from this tab, providing deeper search functionality by learner or other criteria. This added visibility and control make it easier to manage learning content and track outstanding assignments.
Enforce Lesson Sequence Checkbox
Let's dive into a new feature that enhances the learner experience: Enforcing Lesson Sequence. This ensures learners follow lessons in a specific order for a smoother, more structured learning path.
- When creating or editing a course, locate the Enforce Lesson Order checkbox.
- Once enabled, learners won't access the next lesson until the previous one is completed.
- If the course contains any virtual or in-person instructor-led training lessons, subsequent lessons are available after the end date of the instructor-led lesson. If the course includes any training activity lessons, subsequent lessons are available after grading and attendance are completed.
Program Completion Logic
Workday has updated the program completion logic. Previously, when the 'Recognize Previous Completions' option was enabled, the program would automatically mark it as complete with the completion date matching the enrollment date. Now, with 'Recognize Previous Completions' enabled, the completion date reflects when the learner finishes the last item in the program, instead of the enrollment date.
Multiple Assessors
Lastly, Workday now supports assigning multiple assessors to a learning enrollment, which is particularly helpful for long-term assessments or when multiple perspectives are needed.
- In the Manage Grading and Attendance task, select the Mark All as Assessed by prompt to choose multiple assessors.
- You can also assign additional assessors to previously created enrollments, giving you flexibility for ongoing assessments.
