1% of your day is only 14 minutes. The Hoos Well 1% Challenge aims to help you discover the power in that 1%.

Hoos Well has partnered with leading mindfulness provider, eMindful, to help you make every moment matter through the eM Life virtual mindfulness community and the 1% Challenge. Throughout the challenge, you will build your mindfulness skillset and improve your well-being by participating in live and on demand sessions.

Mindfulness is the ability to have greater awareness and focused performance in daily life—whether you’re looking to reduce anxiety or stress, improve your relationships, or help with a chronic condition, there are proven skills available to help your overall well-being.

The 1% Challenge is here to make that fun in just three easy steps:

  1. Activate: Sign up for eM Life and the 1% Challenge between April 13 - May 11, 2020
  2. Dedicate: 14 minutes a day in live or on demand sessions on a wide range of topics
  3. Celebrate: Enjoy the health benefits of mindfulness and earn rewards for participating, like a FitBit, a one on one mindful mentoring session, and more!

On top of your own rewards, you’ll be contributing to the greater social good! For every minute of mindfulness you practice, eMindful will donate to a charity of your choice. (Learn more about this donation on our webpage.)

The 1% Challenge is different from the Mindfulness Challenge, which Hoos Well provided earlier this year, in these ways:

  • eM Life and the 1% Challenge give you a wider range of activities and health topics from which to choose
  • All UVA employees and their families are eligible to earn rewards
  • The rewards are prizes (like a FitBit), not gift cards through the Hoos Well portal
