To help offset the cost of benefit deductions, such as your UVA Health Plan and retirement contributions, UVA provides an annual Supplemental Benefit Credit to eligible employees up to $550.
The Supplemental Benefit Credit is available throughout the year—it is not limited to Open Enrollment. Your eligibility may change if your salary, position, or work schedule changes during the year. No action is required to receive the credit if you are eligible.
No action is required to receive the credit if you are eligible. The credit is applied toward the amount needed for benefit deductions in any given pay period. If benefit deductions do not exceed the supplemental benefit credit in any given pay period, the extra supplemental benefit credit funds cannot be received as income
The credit only applies toward your benefit deductions. If your deductions are less than the available credit in a pay period, you will not receive the remaining amount as additional pay.
Example: If you work less than 30 hours per week and qualify for the Supplemental Benefit Credit, you are eligible to receive 50% of the annual credit.
